Great news!  Trixie joined her forever home the same day she arrived from India – she was adopted by Mary and Bob Vizer of Waterford, WI.  Trixie now has human siblings – Joshua and Nicole.  The family came out to meet Tess and Trixie and it was a VERY difficult decision for them as they fell in love with both puppies and had a hard time deciding which one to bring home.  In the end Trixie won them over and I think she chose them.  The family was very excited to bring her home and shower her with love!
Trixie is settling in well in her new home and has already even met the neighbors!  Everyone who meets her falls in love.  Which is easy to see why.  She is beautiful on the outside and inside.
Thank you to Premlata Choudhary and Sonia Heller for rescuing this sweet girl and giving her such loving care in India.  Most importantly, thank you to Bob and Mary for making her dreams come true.

Trixie was adopted by Trixie was rescued from the streets of New Delhi, India.  Dr. Choudhary, ISDF’s dear friend and rescue partner, spotted six puppies at a construction site where she started feeding them. All of a sudden, two of them went missing. Then one more went missing. This construction site is near to main road. Then, the fourth puppy was crushed under a car and she could not bear to leave the remaining two puppies – Tess and Trixie – there,so she rescued them, vetted them and brought them to the safety and sanctuary of Sonia Heller’s foster home.  Trixie is an amazing young girl – filled with hope and wonder – she approaches each day with the bliss and joy that all young puppies should feel.  She enjoys playing with all of her foster friends at Sonia’s house – the two pups Beni and Bono as well as Kimi and Kushi, and of course Elvis.  She loves to be around people and shows her glee with tail wags abound and kisses.
Trixie is lucky indeed that she caught the eye of one of the most compassionate souls in New Delhi, Dr. Premlata Choudhary, who has dedicated her life to helping street dogs.  Sonia and her husband Dieter have been a beacon of hope for the street dogs in India for several years opening up their home to over a hundred street dogs over the years.  Thanks to Dr. Choudhary and the Heller’s there are hundreds of street dogs that are now living around the world as pampered pets that would have otherwise probably not be alive today.  There are heros among us.  Sonia and Dieter will be relocating to Dubai at the end of April and ISDF is doing our best to find as many all of her fosters homes before they leave New Delhi.  If anyone is able to foster a dog in the Chicago area please contact Dawn at info@istreetdog.com.
