Lissy recently joined Marissa Sullivan of Waukegan, IL. She now has a feline sibling called Grey Kitty. Grey Kitty has become her friend and teacher. They both sleep in bed with Marissa and are LOVED beyond measure. The way it should be. ❤️
Thank you to Elisabeth Feigl for taking such good care of Lissy and for working so hard to give her a better future. Thank you to Christine Sudmann for fostering in Bangkok and handling airport logistics. As always it’s a tremendous effort by many for these miracles to happen. Most importantly thank you to Marissa Sullivan for answering Lissy’s prayers and giving her a wonderful life.
You too can save a life.
Adoption Rescue Story
Here’s the scene: Chicago, winter 2017. The fireplace is glowing, and you’re enjoying some hot cocoa. The snowflakes are gently falling outside, and you’re snuggling with your favorite blanket. Wait… that’s not a blanket. That’s me! Wouldn’t I be the best snuggler ever?! I have a gorgeous, fluffy white coat – with a unique large brown dot on my right side – and I can’t wait to keep you warm this winter.
Very soon, you will have the chance to make me an official member of your family because I was rescued from smugglers in mid-2013. What kind of smugglers? You won’t believe it…. dog meat trade smugglers. It’s true. You’re probably angry, disgusted, and sad. Me, well, I am thankful to have been rescued, and I am ready to share my joy with you!
I became ill after my rescue at the shelter, but I was treated properly, and I recovered. In early January 2014, Elisabeth Franziska Feigl brought me to Elfe’s World. My caregivers say that I am “very sweet and quiet.” They also share that I am rather withdrawn because there are so many dogs around me all the time. I am a 4.5 year-old native Thai mixed-breed dog, and I am spayed and fully vaccinated.
Lissy is an incredibly sweet girl. I don’t think she would hurt a fly. She enjoys her space, but also loves getting her “pets”. She is housebroken and walks well on a leash. Just hold on tight when you see a squirrel!! She loves her long walks, short runs and is super fast if you let her take the lead. Otherwise, she is very polite and will let you take the lead and go at your pace. Also, make sure to give her plenty of time to “investigate” all the different smells outside as she is very curious. When she sees other dogs she behaves politely. Although, she would rather not be around hyper dogs and dogs that bark incessantly.
