GREAT NEWS …. Bella is HOME!! Bella was rescued from the streets of Oman. Today she is a loving family member of Zoe Schultz of Oregon WI.
Bella is just about as sweet and well behaved as they come. Zoe and her family thought the same thing when they met her. Her life has now been transformed and she is surrounded by love and will never have to fear again. The way it should be.
Thank you to all who helped Bella in her journey. It is always through tremendous effort of many for these miracles to happen.
You too can save a life.
Hello! My name is Bella. I am a lovely young Wadi dog from Oman, in search of kind hearts and a soft place to lay my head. Although I am a lowly native street dog here in my coastal hometown of Sur, I deserve a better life. So did the beautiful litter of puppies I brought into the world, but sadly, my babies never had a chance—-amazingly, I do. It’s time I find a forever home, and since no local home has been found, I’ll be flying all the way to Chicago!
I was a good mama, but neighborhood children were not good to me and mine. When the human friends who’d been feeding me arrived one day to bring us to safety, my babies were already gone, taken as tiny playthings, just days after their eyes had opened for the first time. My kind friends had me spayed, so my heart wouldn’t get broken again, and kept me company while I recovered.
My friends soon fell deeply in love with me. They tell me I am beautiful inside and out, and still swoon over my dark brown, almond-shaped eyes and my velvety-soft flop ears. I share noble Arabian sighthound ancestors with Salukis, and my intelligence is a legacy of the thousands of generations of native pariah dogs that came before me—-ancient blood runs through my veins.
Despite my my tough early life, I love to be around people. I’m calm for my age, gentle and sociable, and I’m healthy and up to date on my vaccinations. I can be skittish around new people, but once I feel comfortable, I’m extremely loyal and loving, and I have never shown any signs of aggression. When given the chance to relax and display my full personality, you’ll see my lively side; although I’ve already been a mama dog, I’m still a big puppy myself. I enjoy walking and jogging, but most of all, I love to cuddle and show affection to my trusted friends. I have always lived outside on my own, so I’m still learning all of of my house dog skills. I respond well to positive reinforcement, and have no need for harsh commands; my biggest motivation is pleasing you.
The caring friends I have made here in Sur are all leaving the country soon too. I will miss them fondly, and hope my new family can keep them updated; it will fill their hearts with joy to know that my sad story has a happy ending.
