Great News – Bobby is HOME!!

Bobby is officially home.  And oh what a journey it has been for him.  First overcoming his rough upbringing on the streets of New Delhi, India. Arriving into the US to find his home and falling ill – months of tests and procedures to make him well again.  Well the wait has paid off as he is now an official member of the Kroll Family of Lake Forest, IL.  Eileen and family has been fostering Bobby for the past few weeks and have determined that he has worked his way into their hearts and they can’t imagine life without him.

Hurray for Bobby!  He hit the jackpot.  He now has a K-9 sibling named Molly who he very much loves and plays with all day and a loving set of parents who have watched his story unfold and felt as if fate had kept them from adopting until now.  They had been tempted by many of our rescues but something made them hold back….. until Bobby came along and spoke to their hearts.

Thank you to all who have helped Bobby along the way especially Katchka Masarikova and Meredith Allen – without whose help Bobby would not have been alive today and certainly not been given the second chance to live a fulfilled life in a home.  These gals moved mountains to ensure Bobby had a better future.  Most importantly thanks to the Kroll family for welcoming Bobby into their lives and making his dreams come true.

Pre-Adoption Post
Bobby was born a couple of months earlier, but August 22, 2015 was the day my life REALLY began. It was the day my rescuer, Katerina – newly arrived in India from the Czech Republic – took a wrong turn that led her to my sickly mom and saved the lives of me and my two sisters.

Tragically, my mom ultimately perished – but thanks to Katerina seeking medical care for her, she was free from pain for the first time in her life in the days before she was tragically killed by an encroaching street dog pack.

Mom, starved yet nursing us, and weighed down by an untreated broken leg and a life-threatening, maggot-infested open wound – was defenseless against those dogs, as she lacked spirit after struggling for her entire short, difficult life on the streets of New Delhi. She had used every ounce of her meager supply of courage to keep us alive until help arrived in the form of Katerina and family.

It is honestly a miracle that we are alive today, and a testimony to both my mom, and the compassion and kindness of the Masarik family that you are even reading this, that I am not just another statistic like hundreds of thousands of unlucky desi dogs in my home nation. You can read my full story here – it is truly incredible.

My sisters have been adopted to a loving home in Holland, since overseas adoption is, for so many of us desi dogs, our best shot at a future. There are overwhelming numbers of us in need in India, and so few permanent, loving homes for us here. I have been in the US for a couple months now and have had some ups and downs since arrival. I became ill and my care takers at ISDF found out I had a liver shunt that had to be repaired.  After a month of testing and medical procedures I am recovering well and ready to find my forever home.  They tell me I should be fully recovered and go on to live a healthy life.  Now if I can just find a family.
My foster parents say that I am a stitch and have funny antics.  I am very observant and human orientated.  I often gaze at them with my worried little expression.  I seem to have a concerned worried look perpetually on my face due to my coloring and wrinkles on the forehead.  They say I am adorable.  I have good house manners and enjoy the company of other dogs.
I can only hope and pray. I have been so lucky already in my short life and I know it’s a lot to hope to get even more lucky in the future, but I am daring to let these sad eyes dream…
