GREAT NEWS!!! Borhan is HOME.
Today was a very big day for this lucky rescue from Malaysia. He was escorted by Steve Schleshinger of Paws for Pilots to meet his new family in southern IL. Fadhillah and Sayeed Arrifin were waiting anxiously for their baby boy after an 8 hour drive to meet him. Then all 3 made the long drive back to Monticello, Arizona. Fadhillah is originally from Borhan’s home country, Malaysia and she is thrilled to welcome him to her home!
I’m happy to report that they all made it back safe and sound and all three are happy to be home and starting their new lives together. Borhan enjoyed a trip to the pet store where he picked out a new bone and has been spoiled with love and attention since. His family is smitten with him and he with them. A wonderful new life awaits Borhan.
Borhan would not be here today if it weren’t for the amazing work of Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB) who rescued Borhan and cared for him in Malaysia. Borhan is a perfect example of a dog who has endured hardship on the streets and transitions wonderfully to life in a home and has so much love and joy to give despite his rough beginning. There are so many deserving dogs just waiting for that second chance. Thank you MDDB for giving it to Borhan.
Thank you Sayeed and Fadhillah for making Borhan’s dreams come true.
BORHAN’s Rescue Story
Borhan, male, appox 3-4 years old, 45 lbs, fully vaccinated and neutered.
Borhan belonged to a pack of street dogs that lived near a residential area at a place called Putra Heights, which was located at the suburbs of Kuala Lumpur.
He was the most docile of the pack and was often bullied by the other dogs. Born into the pack, Borhan was probably one of the few puppies that had made it into adult hood.
In Malaysia besides the harsh temperate climate, the overall disdain for dogs amongst a majority of Malaysians was one of the factors, which made it very difficult for street dogs to survive.
Fortunately, Burhan’s pack was lucky as a young lady, who lived nearby, was feeding the dogs daily without fail.
Marina ensured that the pack of dogs had their fail rain or shine and Borhan somehow formed a close bond with her.
One day he turned-up at her doorstep and Marina knew that she had to move him from the neighbourhood as otherwise he would fall prey to the local council dog catchers.
Desperately wanting to save Borhan’s life, she contacted cani9ne welfare project Malaysian dogs Deserve Better (MDDB) which immediately set to work and removed Borhan from Marina’s neighbourhood.
He was neutered and vaccinated and placed at the MDDB half-way-home in Klang.
Borhan has been there for about a year and MDDB strongly believes that a sweet natured and loving dog like Borhan deserved a family of his own and a life free of repression.
As an adult dog, it was literally impossible that he would be able to find a loving home in his home country Malaysia as unfortunately dogs that are not pure breeds have very little chance of adoption.
Therefore, MDDB decided that the best option for Borhan would be for him to journey to the United States in hopes of finding a loving home.
Borham has a calm temperament and seems grateful for the slightest affection. He seems to know how lucky he is to have been spared a life of hardship on the streets and is just thankful to be alive. It doesn’t take much to make this dog happy.
If you are looking for a loving and loyal companion Borham could be the perfect dog for you.
Borhan is being fostered in Wonder Lake, IL and he certainly is a happy dog! Loves affection from people and curious to discover his new world. He enjoys being outside and likes to sunbath on the lawn.
