My name is Charlie Bear, named after the most famous teddy. I am the big, soft, gentle, cuddly Charlie Bear! I am from Bahrain and arrived into Chicago on May 22nd to find my forever home. I am now fostered in Wadsworth, IL. I am a big cuddly boy weighing 80 pounds. I am current on vaccinations, neutered and micro-chipped.

About 2 years of age, I lived in an Arabic home, (home meaning outdoor only, as it is the culture here.) before I was abandoned onto the streets. I don’t understand why they abandoned me, all I know is my friends have told me they regard us as unclean and complain until they get tired of us.

Since I was thrown out, I had been through a
lot, my neck was bleeding from dog bites, my front right leg was hurt, and I
was limping with difficulties from my back leg, due to the big bricks thrown at
me. i was also chased by teenagers playing nearby. I was so frightened, I tried
to run and hide, but there was nowhere to hide. Not long after, 2 dogs joined
me, I was only too happy. But unfortunately, one of my new friends barked too
much, and that made more people abuse us even more.

Despite all of this, I am still a very
trusting boy, I smile! I know you would fall in love with my beautiful
smile!

Then, not long after, a lady was feeding us water, and steamed rice with boiled chicken every alternate day. One fine afternoon, she lured me into her car with very tasty roast chicken. I then spent a fearful month at the vet’s before I was taken to a paid foster. My life became much better with my foster mum, she is a homemaker, and I got to spend time with different dog boarders, perhaps its has just my good luck that only female K9 boarders came to join us!

She looks after cats too, but we are housed
separately, so I am unsure how I would feel towards cats yet. My foster says I
am just a cuddly gentle boy, with good house manners and I do not have
destructive habits, without alpha tendencies, but am nevertheless rather
independent.

As an indoor dog now, I have been learning
about household noises and household routines. (Arabs keeps dogs outdoor).

My foster walks me daily, and praises me for
being very well behaved walking on leash. My dream is to be able to run freely
one day, without people trying to run me over, or packs of dogs going after
me.

I am fully vaccinated, neutered, micro
chipped, and vetted to be healthy.

I am a pretty low maintenance dog, and ask for
very little, just love and some tasty morsels.

I feel so very lucky to have this opportunity to fly to Chicago to join ISDF, to find my forever family, who would love me like I would love you – forever and unconditionally.
