ISDF is excited about the prospect of a wonderful future for two loving desi dogs from New Delhi, Mowgli and Choti! We are happy to host a courtesy post here in hopes that we may help these pooches find wonderful foster or forever homes in the Washington DC area. If so, they will be arriving on November 24th into the area.

Mowgli’s Story:

I am an Indian Native dog (aka a pariah or ‘desi’ dog) who was rescued from the streets of India and will be flying to the USA in November for a chance at adoption.
I was rescued by kind lady named Arti who runs a medical boarding facility on the outskirts of New Delhi. Her family works tirelessly on behalf of injured and abandoned street animals. Arti rescued myself and my brother. Sadly, we both suffered from distemper – but by some double miracle (and with much thanks to Arti), we both survived.

My physical development was slightly affected by illness; I am a little awkwardly-shaped in my front end, and I have a small tremor in one of my front legs, which does not hinder my ability to walk, run, and play. And otherwise, I have no impairments of any kind.

I am young man, just eight months old. Arti describes me as a clever boy who is none-the-wiser about my escape from death. I am loving, sweet, and have a well-balanced, easygoing temperament. I am great with other dogs, and overall I am generally quiet, with a moderate energy level. I am very playful and smart, and can’t wait to make a loving companion for a wonderful family.

I am also fully vaccinated and neutered. I have a blood and stool test report, as well as an International Health Certificate.

I can be seen here on Adopt-A-Pet. Interested parties can also contact Shilpa Gadde, founder of Rescue Without Borders, the East Coast adoption agency who will be handling all adoption formalities. Shilpa’s direct email is rescuewithoutborders@gmail.com. FYI that Rescue Without Borders is offering a Foster-to-Adopt option for me.
