GREAT NEWS ….. Isha is HOME with Kelly and Ed Williams. She has been residing there for about a month and LOVING LIFE!!
This very deserving dog who’s life was almost ended when someone in her home country attacked her with a machete in an effort to rid the dogs from an area in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She was found with her guts hanging out in a pool of blood. Today only the scars remain as a reminder of this dark chapter in her life. You’d never know she encountered such ho…rror as she is a very trusting and happy dog today. A prime example of the resiliency and capacity to love and trust of dogs. It never fails to amaze me.
Ed is ISDF’s daytime doggy care giver. He and Isha grew very close over the weeks until he decided that she was destined to be a part of his family. Kelly works at Lucky E Kennels where ISDF boards dogs from time to time. Ed and Kelly’s lives revolve around dogs and Isha is lucky to have joined such a wonderful home.
Isha has 3 other K-9 siblings now to play with and Ed and Kelly tell me she has acclimated perfectly to their family. She is such a joy and always greets them with kisses and tail wags.
Thank you to Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better for rescuing Isha, nursing her back to health, and giving her this amazing opportunity to live a life fulfilled. Most importantly thank you to Ed and Kelly for making Isha’s dreams come true.
Pre-Adoption Post
Isha, female, appox 2 years old or less. 37 pounds, fully vaccinated and spayed.
One night about seven months ago, MDDB received an urgent call from a member of the public that two young dogs were being attacked by a group of machete wielding men in a place called Sungai Besi which was near the capital city of Kuala Lumpur.
The attacks took place in the premises of a temple and the two young dogs, barely of their puppyhood had gone there to scavenge for food.
One of MDDB’s volunteers rushed to the scene and found a young male dog lying dead with his guts spilling out from a deep slash wound to his stomach.
Isha, who also had a deep cut in her belly was left for dead but she was still alive and groaning in pain.
The MDDB volunteer picked Isha up and rushed her for emergency treatment at a veterinary hospital in Petaling Jaya which was literally in another town and miles away from the place of the incident.
Luckily, Isha survived until she arrived at the hospital which was located in Petaling Jaya.
Once there she was given emergency treatment and sent for surgery the following day.
What followed was a healing process of not only Isha’s wounds but also her emotional and psychological injuries.
The young dog was terrified and cringed when she caught sight of people.
However, with much love and care, Isha was successfully brought out of her traumatic past and today is one of the happiest and cheekiest dogs at the MDDB half-way-home in Petaling Jaya.
Isha is full of energy and enjoys cuddles and romping around the garden. She has seen a lot of pain and suffering in her short life but we are hoping that soon that will be in her past and she will learn the joys of being part of a loving family. Isha has so much love to give despite the abuse she suffered at the hands of man.
Isha arrived into Chicago on April 29th with Borhan and Mini from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She is being fostered in Wonder Lake, IL. and is doing wonderful. A happy little soul with much love to give. She has wonderful house manners and is very smart and already knows basic obedience. She has a playful little soul and enjoys playing fetch. Her favorite pastime though is hanging out with her humans and receiving affection. She generally has a calm temperament and is cage trained. She gets along well with other dogs and enjoys snuggles and pets. She is a gem!
