GREAT NEWS….. JJ IS HOME!!
Today JJ joined Fonda Pinkerton of Zionsville, IN. JJ was rescued from the streets of New Delhi India. Luckily he was given a second chance – thanks to Premlata Choudhary.
Fonda contacted me last weekend and told me she had been looking for a companion for dog Douglas whose sibling passed away recently. She saw JJ’s picture and couldn’t get his image out of her head…. She asked me to tell her everything about him.
A week later the meet and greet was scheduled. Fonda was so excited for the big day and was moved to tears in anticipation. It didn’t take long to know JJ was home. 😉
Here is the message I got from Fonda just a couple hours later “More fabulous than I expected! It’s wrestle-mania at its finest:-) Douglas’ dream buddy and mine, too!!! Thanks!”
Fonda’s life is all about the dogs….Literally! She has run a doggy care service for over 10 years where she cares for people’s pets while they are away at work. I know JJ is in good hands and will be showered with love with his new family. So happy for both of them!!

JJ is such a cutie pie! This is his story …JJ
JJ is from New Delhi, India. JJ’s foster in New Delhi believes that he probably had a home when he was very young but was eventually abandoned. This is a very common practice in India where the views of dogs are very different then here in the US. Millions of dogs roam freely on the streets and struggle for survival. Most of the locals view them as nuisances and many are abused and shooed away or far worse killed. They also face a lot of danger from disease, traffic, and simply malnourishment….. it is a hard life. The lucky few who find homes are often discarded to the street when they become too much work or are no longer cute puppies. They are disposable. There is no telling how long he lived on the street. His rescuer, Premlata Choudhary, who is a dear friend and rescue partner of ISDF, was able to gain his trust by using food and took him in. JJ is so very loving and sweet and very anxious to make everyone his friend. Be sure to watch his video 😉
Premlata asked ISDF if we could find him a home on the same day that the Dawn Trimmel (Founder) and Chuck LaJoice lost their loving companion JJP. Heartbroken and grieving for their loss they asked that the dog be named JJ in honor of the passing of their dog.
JJ arrived into Chicago on June 10th (with Poppy and Cherry)and is thriving in his foster home. He came out of the cage after over 24 hours of travel tail wagging and eager to explore his new world. He is incredibly adorable and loving. He is very smart and is catching on to life in a home very quickly. He is good with other dogs and enjoys playtime but also has a calm loving side. He has a very athletic build and would be an ideal companion for an active family where he could share adventures with them. He has good house manners and is cage trained.
JJ is rather small at 30 pounds and should not get too much bigger. He is micro-chipped, neutered and fully vetted.
