GREAT NEWS! Leo has found his fur-ever home. Leo is a handsome lad from the streets of Instanbul, Turkey who just arrived in Chicago yesterday. His new parents Deborah Foshee and her Fiance’ Tim Shea live in West Chicago, Ill and have welcomed him in as a loving member of their family.
Leo took to the Deb and Tim right away and after 15 minutes went up to Tim who was sitting on the couch and put his paw on his lap… as if to say “Yes, I am your dog”. It worked and the de…al was sealed. A dream come true for any dog but especially one who struggled to stay alive on the streets.
Thank you to Leo’s saviors who have worked so hard to give Leo this precious second chance. Fey Rubeyi, Yildiz Kocak, and Bahar Kekec you are all angels on earth. Most importantly thank you to Deb and Tim for opening your home and hearts to Leo.

LEO’S STORY:
Leo is my name. Leo is Latin for “lion,” and it was the name of many early
Christian saints and several popes. In German, it’s a short form of Leon or Leopold, meaning “brave people.” I’m a brave dog, though; I survived the harshest winters and summers in the scariest neighborhoods in Istanbul. I say scary because I was sick and hungry, I had a very bad case of mange I was hiding in a construction building hunting for food crumbs. At some point some people called on me because of my horrible looks, the city came over looking for me, and I managed to hide from them. They tried again and again but they couldn’t manage to find me. Then one day an angel came close by and she was talking to me. I thought I was dead, I was very weak and she carried me to safety and I opened my eyes in a vet clinic. I stayed at the clinic for 20 days they gave me all the medical attention I needed, they were very sweet and loving, they washed me on a daily basis, fed me and walked me. I never thought that humans could be this kind and sweet, as for my experience with humans I thought all they do is kick and hit, maybe because I looked very ugly and my skin was falling apart and bleeding and the kids were afraid of me.
My savior angel came back to the vet and took me back to stay with her, along with my 20 brothers and sisters, she gave me all the TLC I needed, I felt wonderful and grateful, loved and cared for. However, my mom decides to take be back to the streets because her place was very crowded. She left me in a safe neighborhood and walked away crying. I did not let go of her and it took me two weeks to find her again and I showed up in front of her door one night and she was stunned seeing me there. She said, “How did you manage to walk the 30kilometers?”
“Come in my little rascal”, she said.
I am an excellent loving boy; I love both humans and dogs. I am playful and super affectionate and I never bark. And as you figured out that I am very smart dog.
