Lucy’s Rescue Story:
Well hello there! My name is Lucy, and I’m three years-old. Two years ago, I was rescued from
Thailand and have since being living in Boston with my new Mom. It’s been pretty great! The food is so
good here, and my Mom makes me yummy treats. Life has twists and turns, though, as I imagine you
have experienced, too. I know my Mom loves me very much, but unfortunately, I can’t stay with her
anymore. I am sad, yes, but I also know I’ll find another family to love me… and to love, in return!
One reason I am happy in my Boston home is because of my brother, Murphy! He’s my Mom’s
service dog, and I just adore him. He is a cocker spaniel, and we are best pals! I’m also friends with the
cats; we’re not super close, but after I got used to them, we have a good relationship. When I’m not
hanging out with Murphy, I snuggle with my favorite toy, a pink piggie. My pink piggie helps me when I
get scared, like during thunderstorms. Sometimes I need extra TLC when I’m nervous, like when I’m in
the car. My crate is a safe place for me, and I spend cozy time there.
Outside, I walk really nicely on the leash and am well-behaved. I am fully potty-trained, and I
know a few basic commands. I think some training classes with my new family would help my comfort
with unfamiliar things, as well as be a great chance for bonding. Here is something really special about
me: I love the beach. I mean, I love it. My Mom says that I am happiest at the beach, where I am the
most calm and my tail “always stays up.” I have heard that there are some beautiful lakes in the Chicago
area, so I’m already excited to visit them with my new family! If you would enjoy spending time with me
on walks and near water, I’m your girl! I can’t wait to meet you soon.
