My name is Lulu, and I’m a super-gentle and sweet wadi dog from Oman. I have lovely almond-shaped eyes, a golden coat, and a smile like sunshine! I’ve been living on the street since my birth a year and a half ago, and now my whole world is about to change! I am coming to Chicago to find my first real home; do you think there might be a place in yours and your heart for me?
Wadi dogs can be seen all over Oman, and usually they have to fend for themselves. When I was still a cute, shy puppy, I was lucky enough to make friends with a wonderful group of animal welfare volunteers, and since then, they’ve looked out for me. They’ve brought me food and kept me company, and now that most of them are moving away from Oman, they arranged this rescue flight for me!
I’m used to living on my own outdoors, but I’ve happily worn a collar and lead to walk with my human friends, and I’ve done well when they have brought me inside. I’m kind, gentle, and sociable, despite having had a tough life. I can be a little timid when meeting new people, but once I see they mean me no harm, I’m their most loyal friend. Sadly, neighborhood kids have not been kind to me, so I’m more wary with children initially. I can’t wait to find a safer place to lay my head at night and a family that will love me unconditionally.
I’ve never displayed any aggression to people or other dogs, and I freely share food and toys with my street dog friends. I must admit chasing cats is one of my favorite pastimes. I’m a healthy girl; I’m already spayed and all of my vaccinations are up to date. I would love a home with a yard or close access to a nice park, and I’d be happy to be your jogging buddy. I even have a hobby; I’m a shoe collector! I hope you are just as excited to come meet and collect me!
