My name is Minna. I’m an adorable, mid-sized poodle-mix sweetheart from Thailand and I’ll be flying to Chicago in a few days to find my forever family and loving home. I’m not even a year old, but I’ve already learned that the world is full of miracles when you’ve got Elisabeth Feigl of Elfe’s World at your side. Will you win a starring role in my miraculous life?
Several months ago, two Thai animal lovers found me after I’d been abandoned at a Buddhist temple on the island of Koh Samui. I was filthy, matted, and scared, but I could tell they were there to help me. My new friends brought took me to a Soi Dog mobile clinic for spaying and shaving before bringing me to Elfe’s World refuge for dogs. Currently, there are almost 700 dogs at Elfe’s World—young and old, big and small, gentle and spirited—plus a multitude of alumni happily homed in Europe and North America. Some were rescued from smugglers in the dog meat trade, others were brought to Elfe sick or injured, or saved from lives of abuse, neglect, and starvation. Quite a few were abandoned in temples, just like me.
My fairy godmother Elisabeth fell in love with me quickly—she says I’m a especially sweet and lively girl—you can tell I’m still a puppy! She has promised me an American home where I’ll be cherished for life, and says that my adopters will be as lucky as me when I join their family. I have another fairy godmother too—beautiful Lina—my sponsor here at Elfe’s. My wavy hair has grown out again, and with regular grooming I will be such a cute dog, with my brown and black spots and super-sweet face. I have been very patient and well-behaved during grooming sessions and vet visits as well. I’m already spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped, an all-around healthy girl.
With other dogs I am playful and gentle, and I would really enjoy sharing my life with a canine sibling and/or having frequent play dates with doggy friends. Ned and Carlo have been my besties at Elfe’s, and I’m so happy that they’re both coming to the U.S. along with me! I haven’t been around children or cats, but I think I’d have a lot of fun with them too. In hot weather, I love to splash around in the water, and when it’s cool, I love to cuddle. I have a lot to learn about life as a house dog, but Elisabeth thinks I’ll be an especially bright and motivated student. She says I’m the total package, all wrapped up in a shiny pink bow. I think I just might be the pup of your dreams!
