GREAT NEWS…. Pepper found his forever home today with Gail Botic from Dousman, WI!! Pepper is a rescue from the streets of Turkey.
Such a joyous day! This sweet boy who has suffered so much in his short life will now know safety and love for the rest of his life. And he will never have a dull moment as he will help Gail care for her goats and chickens daily and have many fun adventures. What a wonderful new beginning….😉)
Thank you to all who have saved Pepper’s life a…nd worked so hard to give Pepper this second chance. He has many guardian angels.
Pepper is from a town in Turkey called Izmir.
Pepper and Otto were local street dogs who fell into the hands of an evil man.
His neighbors contacted animal rescue groups via Facebook after observing how badly he treated the two dogs. We contacted volunteers to go and check on these poor souls. They found Otto and Pepper in horrific condition. They were tied to a tree night and day in all kinds of weather. The few scraps they were given were hardly enough to survive on. Pepper’s ears were cut off and he was thrown in a well.
When the rescuers arrived they found Pepper inside the well struggling to stay alive. The horrid man admitted that the dog had been in the well for three days. The rescuers had to go through enormous obstacles to get these dogs out of the horrific situation but they knew they HAD TO and that time was critical.
Pepper was taken to the vet and treated and is now well and healthy. He arrived into Chicago on January 25th to find his forever home.
The dog situation in Turkey is horrendous beyond belief. There are no laws preventing the abuse of animals. Animal lovers and volunteers do all they can do to save, help and re-home these abused creatures. Nonetheless, many stray dogs continue to get hurt or die on the streets due to people, cars, starvation, illness and a host of other issues. These dogs’ lives are more often than not miserable beyond imagination.
Pepper is a two-year-old boy. Pepper loves Otto and follows him everywhere. Pepper has a great temperament and is a sweet, loving and trusting despite all he has been through. He will make a loyal companion to a very lucky family. Did I mention he is adorable? He is current on vaccinations, neutered, micro-chipped and cage trained. His adoptive family will need to continue his training but he is smart and very human orientated so he will be an excellent pupil… If you are interested in adopting Pepper please contact Dawn Trimmel at info@istreetdog.com. You can find our adoption application here. You must be approved for adoption before scheduling a meet and greet with Pepper.
