My name is Pepper I’m as little as a peppershaker; I am a rescue female dog from the streets of Istanbul. I am nearly 4 months old when some good people found me on the autobahn. I was playing a game if I can run between those monstrous machines where zipping around.  I had a rope tied around my neck. And that rope was so long that the cars where driving over it. And suddenly my neck was dragged along with the rope, I thought I was going to die; I was caught in the tire of one car. The car stopped immediately and some people came out, staring at me and talking till I saw the beautiful face of my savior. The good people saved me they were on a motorcycle, one had to stop all the traffic and the other was trying to catch me. I was terrified and did not know what to do other than wag my tail to thank my saviors.  Bahar took me to her house, fed me and washed me. She was very sweet and loving and I had hang out with Uncle Umut who was a street dog also.

Now Bahar is sending me to Chicago to ISDF to find my forever family.

I am extremely happy playful girl; I love other dogs and kids. I don’t like barking or chewing on your stuff. I love toys though; I am good with leash and not aggressive at all. I love sharing my food with other dogs or cats. Did I mention that my best friends are cats?

Puppies are always cute and sweet, till they grow to be rumbustious and too large to be kept in an apartment. But they cannot survive the streets on their own. People take puppies inside their homes then few months later they kick them out into the streets or the forests of Istanbul. Some neighborhoods in Istanbul are aware of their street dogs; you can see some dogs live in front of an apartment, waiting for leftovers from their human friends. However streets are never safe environment for any dog in any city. Zipping cars, mean kids or adults, exposed to abuse, torture. Harsh weather conditions are not ok for any domestic animals, being wet in a snowy day or extremely thirsty in very hot day can kill those poor dogs.

Pepper is 4 months old and weighs 17 pounds.  She is not spayed because she is little, all shots completed.

Pepper will be flying to Chicago on September 17th to find her forever home.
