Rahi is a stunningly beautiful 1-year-old 30 lb female street dog who was rescued last September from the streets of New Delhi. ISDF friend Lorene was out walking her two dogs one evening, when she noticed she was being followed by a sweet girl dog with smiling eyes who was trying to entice Lorene’s dogs to play.
Despite her happy demeanor, Rahi had a horrible open wound on her left rear leg. Locals told Lorene that a car literally drove over her leg when she was just a baby, and then left her on the streets in that condition to die. Rahi survived – and with Lorene’s loving care since September, has now THRIVED. She adores Lorene’s two dogs and although she is content to sleep the day away on a sofa, she also happily welcomes any affection with open arms! No grudges against humans here…
Rahi’s leg has healed and she can run like the wind when she chooses to now. Her name means “traveler” in Hindi, and she is about to realize the full potential of that title, as she will fly all the way here to the USA this week, seeking a forever home with a family to call her own. ISDF is thrilled to meet this sweet survivor! Rahi’s full story will be published in the next few days and we will update this post with a link as soon as possible.
