GREAT NEWS….. …. Rinki is HOME!! Today she joined Elizabeth Patterson of Lafayette, IN. Rinki was rescued from the streets of New Delhi, IN.
Today a wonderful new chapter of her life begins. One filled with love, security and fun adventures.
Elizabeth is a dog person who has been involved with rescue for many years. Her dogs are “her kids”. Elizabeth is having a fence installed for Rinki and she asked about Rinki possibly being able to jump it. Elizabeth said “I plan… to be such a good mommy she won’t want to jump it”. I believe that. Elizabeth is a teacher and has off for the rest of the summer and is looking forward to spending a lot of time with Rinki and Emma her current dog.
Elizabeth is also friends with Michelle Nagler who recently adopted Pixie. Which is why it is very special that she received the $25 PetSmart gift certificate that Kat Nagler donated.
Thanks to all who have helped Rinki along the way especially Aarti Bhardwaj and Isobel Grant who rescued, cared for and made it possible for Rinki to come to the US to find her happiness
Most importantly thank you to Elizabeth Patterson for making Rinki’s dreams come true.

Rinki’s rescue
Sadly, in December 2015, a number of puppies were dumped outside Happy Paws Medicare Boarding Centre in New Delhi, India. On opening the center gates one morning, Arti found Rinki outside wandering on the road and looking for something to eat. She fed Rinki but Rinki was very wary of her and she therefore remained outside the center. However, Rinki slowly got used to Arti and eventually Arti brought Rinki into the center as she feared for her safety outside. Rinki was still wary of humans and although she would approach someone she would not let them touch her. Following an unsuccessful fostering, Rinki returned to Happy Paws but luckily, with constant interaction between Arti and other visitors, Rinki overcame her fear of humans to become a friendly dog. She was transferred into the foster care of Anil on 28 April 2016, where she is being crate trained, leash and house trained. Anil remarked that she warmed up very quickly to him and was quite affectionate.
ISDF Founder, Dawn Trimmel met Rinki on a trip to New Delhi in April. Dawn had been told that Rinki was a little shy around new people however when she went up to her Rinki gladly went into her arms and seemed quite comfortable to hang out with Dawn and receive affection. Dawn fell in love with this sweet girl at first site and vowed to find her a loving home in the USA. Almost 2 months later Rinki will be making the journey to Chicago in hopes of finding her forever home. She will arrived on Friday June 3rd, 2016 and is thriving in her new environment. She is very attached to people and loves to hang out with her humans. She enjoys her bones and walks. She gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playing with them. She has waited a long time for her family – could you be the family she has been looking for?
About Rinki
Rinki was initially a very shy dog who was wary of humans. Rinki’s history is unknown before she reached Happy Paws and so it is likely she experienced any mistreatment at the hands of humans. Over time, her initially wary nature gave way to a friendliness and she can be picked up, cuddled and loves to run and play. Anil, her foster dad in India, commented, “She was a little shy at first but a very sweet and loving girl who warms up to new people quickly.”
