Rocky is very affectionate – loves people and other dogs. He is an happy go lucky puppy that likes to play but also has a very calm demeanor for such a young pup. He traveled to Chicago from New Delhi, India to find his forever home in June as his chances of adoption in India would be slim to none. He is one of the lucky few.
RESCUE STORY – As written by foster mom Sonia Heller in New Delhi, India
At the beginning they were four. Four lovely furry pups enjoying life, playtime altogether under the protection of their mother. Every time we were going to the hospital vet nearby, we stopped to see how they were doing, knowing that things can quickly change and only a very little few pups can survive here. It was mid January 2015.
One day we didn’t see them at all, and the next day and the day after. This is when we decided to search for them and found them hiding inside an abandoned house. They were not the pups we saw a few days before. They looked very tired, without energy, not able to stand up or move when we approached them. The mother was not around, but only male dogs who were not paying attention to the pups. We decided to take them to the hospital to have them checked and treated. Three of them already had parvovirus and one of them only was clear, so we named him Rocky for being the strong & healthy one. It took Haddi and Jimmy 2 weeks of intensive care to recover. Unfortunately one little brother, Max, could not make it. After three weeks Haddi and Jimmy were out of danger and after 6 weeks they could finally be reunited with their brother Rocky.
They are now healthy, happy playful pups who fully enjoy life. Rocky is neutered, micro chipped and current on vaccinations.
