Great News! Sally is finally HOME. Today Sally joined the loving home of Matthew Lambert and Andrea Grzeslo of Lake Villa, IL. Sally was rescued from the streets of New Delhi, India as a young pup. She journeyed to the Chicago earlier this year in hopes of finding her forever home. As with some dogs, their journey takes many twists and turns for them to arrive home and find their humans. This was the case with Sally but today she FOUND them!
Matt and Andrea had been looking for the right dog to join their home and when they saw Sally’s photos and read her story they felt an instant connection. They called me and within hours were on their way to meet her. It was love at first site and they were soon on their way home together. Andrea was so thrilled and couldn’t wait to share the good news with friends and family. Matt and her stopped on the way home at PetSmart to get her treats, toys, food and bones. Needless to say… a wonderful new life awaits Sally and she is so deserving of it.
Thank you to Premlata Choudhary for rescuing and making this happy ending possible for Sally. Thank you to Bill Willy for fostering Sally while she waited for Andrea and Matt to find her. Most importantly thank you to Andrea and Matt for making Sally’s dreams come true.
Pre-Adoption Post
Sally is a one year old girl who was born on the streets of New Delhi, India. Lucky for her she had guardian angels in her path and today she is in Chicago looking for her forever home. She came to the states in January 2016 and was adopted right away. Unfortunately the adopters decided that she wasn’t the right fit and that they didn’t really feel they had time for a dog in their lives. So this sweet girl is back with ISDF in hopes of finding her forever home soon. Sally is sweet and loving – she is great with people including kids and loves to be around other dogs.
Sally’s Rescue Story:
Sally was born on the streets of New Delhi, India.
Sally and her sister were rescued in the nick of time, lying on a very busy road late one night, with no family in sight to guide them to safety.
Dr. Choudhary and some of her rescue associates were travelling from Rajasthan to Delhi late at night this past November 5th when the headlights of their car fell upon two tiny puppies lying on the road, about to get mowed down by fast-moving vehicles.
Dr. Choudhary and friends hunted for the mother of the puppies, as well as their presumed other siblings, but their efforts were in vain. It was so dark out already that the doctor and her friends could not properly assess the puppies’ conditions. They scooped them up from the road and travelled back home (a 300 kilometer drive).
Once in Delhi, under the light of the examination room, they found both puppies to be bone-thin, full of maggots and fleas, with various wounds over their bodies. Dr. Choudhary and staff treated the pups for almost a full month before they made a full recovery.
Today, Sally – as she was named – is a very healthy, happy-go-lucky pup in need of a forever family to call her own. She is cute as can be and has a sweet, lovely personality with a VERY calm demeanor, All she ever wants to do is cuddle! She gets along wonderful with other dogs & is one heck of a team player! Sally weighs approximately 18 pounds and will be around 35 – 40 pounds when fully grown. ISDF rescue partner, Sonia Heller, is fostering both puppies in New Delhi while they await their flight to the USA. Sally and her sibling Sherry arrived into Chicago on January 20th.
