I was born on the streets of Bangkok, Thailand and eked out a frightening and hardy existence until one terrible night when I was just eight months old. I was smashed by a car and left badly injured in the gutter at the side of a road with a broken back.

I was rescued and brought to the WSK dog condo near Bangkok where over 1500 abandoned street dogs live and many more cats. I lived in a small, rusty cage for six months until the day some new caretakers forgot to latch my cage shut after feeding me. Excited to finally have freedom again, I dragged myself out of my cage and quite a distance. When some other territorial residents at WSK threatened me, I panicked and dragged myself over a small rise, where I fell into a drainage ditch. I lay there on muddy bank, nearly drowning each time I slipped back in. More than 24 hours later, I was accidentally discovered, saving my life. My dear friend, animal rescuer Soot Liang Woo, was grateful I survived and terrified for my ability to stay alive further at the shelter. She pulled me out and brought me to a veterinarian, and then to her home, where I have been ever since, an experience I have never known before – and that I love!

I have made absolutely miraculous progress! I started to walk within a few weeks under Soot’s loving care and support, and now – four months later – I can walk, I can run, I can play, I can jump. I am one remarkable boy!

Now Soot is working with me on socialization. I am great with all other dogs, big and small! And I am curious but very polite with Soot’s cats. I do wonderfully with her family – but I will probably always be a little shy with strangers.

I am not aggressive, but I still have some fear, and right now I tend to bark at strangers until I can retreat. I have been shown great unkindnesses in the past during my time on the streets, and with my handicap, I feel very vulnerable these days to anyone who I think might hurt me. So it will take continued confidence building, socialization, and patience to keep bringing me out of my shell – but I am already making progress with Soot, and I hope to find an understanding family who will continue to work with me to make me the boy I can truly be in a loving, stable, permanent home with my future amazing people. Maybe you are the ones I was destined to be with forever…?
