GREAT NEWS…. Yesterday, Tiger became an official member of Kayla Crump’s family in West Lafayette, IN.

Little Tiger rescued from the streets of New Delhi, India. Despite his rough start to life Tiger has blossomed into the most loving and charming guy. Today he found his perfect match!!

Kayla Crump and her roommate Maddie arrived to meet Tiger (after a 3 hour drive) and were so excited to say the least. Kayla and Tiger instantly hit it off and before long he was curled up next to her. It’s as if he knew Kayla was his new mom. I think Kayla wins the award for most well prepared adopter. She was ready, had done her homework and bought everything Tiger needed in advance including a very snazzy ID Tag, leash and collar – a fetching baby blue color..:)  Kayla had read all the pre-adoption material and in addition did her own research in many areas. It is very evident to me that Kayla wants the very best for Tiger and takes the adoption of Tiger very seriously. As it should be – future adopters take note! ;))

Thank you to Joyita Bhattacharya and Meredith Allen for rescuing this precious dog and working so hard to ensure he had a better future. Most importantly, thank you to Kayla Crump for opening your heart and home to Tiger! I know you two will have an amazing life together. Love to you both!

Pre-Adoption Post

Tiger is a handsome, blond, 4-month-old Indian street puppy, or desi dog. Tragically, he is the only survivor of six siblings, all of whom were killed by speeding traffic. Worse still, Tiger’s last remaining sibling – a beloved brother – died right in front of his eyes just a few weeks ago. The only silver lining to this horrific incident was that it ultimately triggered a series of events that at last got Tiger matched with a temporary foster family and off the deadly streets he had called home for his entire short, tragic life.

Sweet Tiger is shy at first blush, but once he grows comfortable with strangers, he is touchingly affectionate and playful. His current foster home has two young children, so he is gaining great experience with kids. His family has also discovered that he does wonderfully with other dogs. Currently, Tiger is receiving medications for a slight skin irritation – an allergy or reaction caused by the rainy, damp monsoon season. He is receiving antibiotics and topical cream, and the vet says these will be completely curative in short order.

The ladies who care for all these dogs on the streets, including Tiger’s rescuer Joyita, will move Tiger and desi puppy pal Chutki into a foster home together this very weekend. Tiger’s foster mom from now until he flies will be a friend of Joyita’s, a well-known dog advocate in the area who will help with final preparations before flight.

ISDF is thrilled to meet Tiger very soon, and seeking an amazing forever family that will embrace this special boy for the rest of his life. We can’t wait to welcome this little boy to the USA!
