GREAT NEWS…. It’s official Tipsy is home with Jenny and Jon Cushman and their son Jeremy of Kenosha, WI. Tipsy now has a feline sister too!
Jon and Jenny took Tipsy home a few days ago to do a “foster to adopt” just to make sure their home would be a good fit. Well as predicted it didn’t take long for Jon and Jenny and their son Jeremy to decide. She is already a full-fledged member of the family! I knew it was a foregone conclusion when I saw the special bond between Jon and Tipsy the day they met. She chose this family…DONE DEAL!
Thanks to all who helped Tipsy especially Nada Al Moosa of Omani Paws Rescue.

Tipsy’s Pre-Adoption Post
This is Tipsy she is 6 month old rescue from the streets of Muscat, Oman. She is fully vaccinated and spayed. She was rescued from a beach where a kind lady saw her all alone starved and dehydrated! She took her in and contacted Omani Paws Rescue Tipsy is good with other dogs, good on leash, she is good around kids, and cats!
She can be shy at first but once she knows the person she warms up very quickly she loves long walks and loves the beach.
She currently weighs approximately 22 pounds and will likely be a medium sized dog when fully grown – maybe 40-45 pounds. Tipsy is spayed, current on vaccinations and micro-chipped.
Oman is a country is an Arab country in the southeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It is filled with wonderful national treasures, vivid landscapes….. and thousands of “wadi” street dogs. These wadi dogs can be seen virtually everywhere. Unfortunately, they face the same plight as many Muslim countries where dogs are generally viewed as unclean and not fit to be pets. Dog ownership is rare and when they are owned they are usually not allowed in the house and are more often viewed as guard dogs left to roam the outside vicinity of the home. The government doesn’t have humane animal welfare laws and worse yet police are given open rights to shoot “any and all” wadi dogs. They don’t have to be a nuisance – they will be killed just for having the unfortunate luck of being born on the streets in Oman. It is common practice and worse yet many are not killed instantly but suffer the slow painful death caused by festering gunshot wounds. And if not killed by a gunshot the dogs die of diseases, starvation, heat strokes as the temperature can easily reach to 55 degrees in the summer. Most Omani wadi dogs don’t make it past 2-3 years!
Tipsy arrives in Chicago on February 2, 2017
