Happily Ever After … Crash Bandicoot Barasa!

“We are the proud new parents of “formerly Betsey” – now named “Crash Bandicoot Barasa” – and we could not be happier with our adoption experience.
The entire application and meeting process was reassuring and Dawn made us feel so comfortable every step of the way. We knew for a long time that we wanted to adopt our next dog from ISDF and we knew the moment that we met Betsey that she was ours.
She quickly learned the ropes from our 4 year old dog Maple and it feels impossible that she was living in Malaysia two short weeks ago. She was definitely the missing piece to our little family and we feel so incredibly lucky for ISDF and for all of the many amazing, selfless people who made this journey possible. She is the smiliest, happiest pup and seems to be really relaxed and feeling at home. No accidents, no destructive behavior, no need to even crate her while out and about. I am pretty certain she thinks that her name is “good girl,” because she hears it all day long.
While I have rescued in the past, this experience has been so unique and made me feel connected to the rescue efforts in another part of the world. A topic that is not discussed or acknowledged enough, if at all. So many people from Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better have reached out, missing Betsey and feeling so thrilled about her new life in Chicago. We do not take our responsibility as her new parents lightly and we will forever make her feel nothing but so loved. Thank you so sincerely to everyone who worked to bring her here, to bring her home. We are forever grateful for all that you do.
