In the words of Halona’s mom.
“In April, our family dog died. There was a hole in our family. I learned about ISDF in December and had been watching the FaceBook page learning about the rescue organization. Dawn had learned a bit about our family and she recommended a couple of dogs that may be a fit for us.
When I saw Halona’s photo, I felt she was meant for us-she looked SO much like the first dog my husband and I had when we got married 30 years ago! Halona’s face pulled at my heart. We met her, and it was love at first sight.
There are always challenges when adopting a dog, but we sought advice, and have had great success training her to be a family/neighborhood dog/pet. She gets compliments whenever I walk her-she is so cute!
She is not used to typical dog toys or treats, so her biggest treat is love! She is happy watching for bunnies, lying in the sun, taking a walk, or getting her belly rubbed. She is adapting well, and she has really filled the hole in our family.”
