Layla – Thailand Dog Meat Trade Survivor to have a new life

posted in: Dog Stories | 1

Layla has had a rough life so far and has escaped death several times. Fate had other things in store for her ….. as she will soon be traveling to Chicago to find her forever home and be given a second chance at life. Layla was rescued from the illegal dog meat trade in Thailand and narrowly escaped a brutal death to end up on a dinner table. After her rescue she was taken to a government livestock shelter where most dogs perished within 6 months due to overcrowding and lack of food and medicine. She was extremely lucky AGAIN and received sponsorship to travel to Koh Samui and live at ElfesWorld – a sanctuary where over 600 dogs live. She was now safe… and cared for however, she longs for human companionship and is not faring well at the shelter. Some dogs adjust to shelter life and while not ideal are able to live happily. Layla unfortunately was stressed by living with so many dogs and not having much human attention. Thanks to so many wonderful guardian angels in her life her world is about to change! A whole new world filled with love and security awaits her. We just need the money to bring her home! We are half way funded. We have raised $600 out of the $1,200 needed to bring her home. I met Layla on my recent visit to Thailand and was totally smitten with her. She is not only VERY pretty but ohhh so sweet.

I would love to love her up. My only problem is the money and I am sure you here that from everybody. Is there any type of donors or scholarship’s that are available to help people who want to adopt but cant afford it?
    Thank you for your time.
