Pixie and Jason make the long journey at last!

Pixie and Jason are two puppies out of a liter of 7 that were rescued in early 2015 from a banana plantation in Phuket Thailand.  I met them on a trip to the Bodhi Shelter in Phuket Thailand last April.  I met over 100 dogs at the Shelter – so many wonderful dogs – however, these 2 stood out and stole my heart immediately.  So much so that I kept looking at Pixie’s picture once I returned home and it was so moving to me that I made Pixie the face of ISDF – she now adorns our brochures and adoption banners.

I pledged that day to bring them to the US and find them loving forever homes.  That day has finally come and they are in route to us as I type this.  I am so excited to see their lovely faces again and to welcome them to the USA.  Pixie has a loving home waiting for her with Michelle Nagler who will be meeting me at the airport tomorrow to receive them.  Jason will be going with Michelle back to Lafayette Indiana with Michelle and Pixie to be fostered by her good friend and neighbor Lora Merkel.

Pixie and Jason are extremely bonded and loving siblings and the fact that they will stay close upon arrival and see each other every day is a dream come true.  It will help ease the stress of the travel and their new environment and bring them much happiness in days to come.  In fact Michelle’s daughter Kat is best friends with Lora’s daughter Samantha and the girls have big plans to put them through obedience training together and take them on walks and play with them each day.  What a fun summer for the girls and what a perfect welcome for Pixie and Jason.  Such lucky pups!  Nothing better than the warm welcome and company of young girls.

Michelle and Kat have been waiting a long time for Pixie to arrive… they let me know they wanted to adopt her over 6 months ago and have been waiting patiently all this time. Oh the anticipation!!

For Tina Maria, the Founder of Bodhi Shelter, it was a tearful bittersweet goodbye.  Pixie and Jason have been two of her favorites at the shelter and she has grown very fond of them.  Don’t worry Tina Pixie and Jason will be showered with love and well taken care of once they arrive.  They will never forget you and they know that it is because of you they are alive today and having this amazing opportunity to live happy fulfilled lives. A second chance that so many will never know.  Thank you Tina for all the you do for the street dogs of Phuket.  You give 110% to the dogs that are forgotten, abused and neglected. The dogs that have no where else to turn.  You are an angel.
