HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS …Yesterday Daphne, whom just arrived on Wednesday from Malaysian, joined Maria Lin Lomongo of Des Plaines, IL.
Maria immediately was enchanted by Daphne who shyly greeted her and sat inquisitively looking at her as Maria and I talked. Maria won her over with a few treats and soon Daphne was sitting next to her eating up all the attention.
Daphne got to meet Snowy – her …sisters dog who will be over visiting often. The two dogs sniffed each other and then ignored each other. Not bad for a first meeting….😉
Maria brought her sister and a couple friends that will all be aunts and uncles to Daphne. They all loved Daphne!! ❤️.
Maria is originally from the Philippines and can empathize with the plight of the street dog and was thrilled to be able to offer a street dog a loving home.
Maria is looking forward to the loving companionship that only a K-9 can offer. Maria is home a lot and so they will have lots of time to bond and hang out together.
Thank you to Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better for saving this sweet girl and working so hard to give her a better life. It’s truly amazing that she is alive and being given this second chance. She was in the brink of death with a maggot wound in the mouth that prevented her from eating or drinking and now she is about to become a spoiled pouch in the US.

Daphne, fully vaccinated and spayed. Appox 1 yr old, 40 pounds
DAPHNE’S STORY:
Daphne was literally dying when she was spotted by a student in a small town called Kampar in the northern state of Malaysia. The roof of her mouth was badly injured and had turned into a maggot wound which prohibited her from eating or drinking. The 6 month old puppy was literally dying from starvation and dehydration. The maggots were also starting to eat their way through the roof of her mouth. Luckily, the student contacted MDDB and arrangements were made to bring Daphne down to Petaling Jaya where MDDB was located. She was immediately rushed to their regular vet where the maggots were flushed out and her journey towards physical and psychological recuperation began. Thankfully, her ordeal did not have any permanent psychologic scars and Daphne has blossomed into a pretty and charming doggie girl.
Daphne like most street dogs have very little chance of local adoption and so international adoption is often their only chance of finding a home.
Daphne will be arriving in Chicago on December 7, 2016
