GREAT NEWS…. Finny is finally HOME!!! Finny joined Cody and Kelly Remmel and K-9 brother Jefe of Genesee, WI. A more perfect match could not have been found. Finny and Jefe look like they were made to be together – perfect book-ends. They got along right from the get go. Cody and Kelly understand Finny’s special needs and will giver her the love and patience needed to thrive and find her full potential. They are very experienced dog owners who have “rescue” in their blood….
Finny was at ease with them right away and stuck near them the entire time they were at my house as if she knew that a new chapter of her life was beginning and Cody and Kelly were to be a part of it.
So happy for sweet Finny who has been through so much tragedy in her short life. She was abducted in the brutal dog meat trade of Thailand as a young pup and then went on to face the horrors of a government livestock shelter… Until the fateful day Elfe spotted her photo and sent her to live at her shelter in Koh Samui where over 600 dogs are cared for. While life there was significantly better she was not happy. She was fearful of many of the dogs and longed for human affection. That is all in her past now and today a new happy chapter begins in her life. She was given a second chance thanks to the persistence and caring of Elfe Thank you to James Reynolds for fostering Finny in Bangkok and helping with the flight logistics. And most importantly thank you to Kelly and Cody for opening your hearts and home to this very special girl.
Pre-adoption post
Finny is a beautiful, petite, 3 year old female dog meat trade survivor from Thailand. She is one of the lucky few who was spared that horrible fate. After her rescue she was taken to a large government shelter in Thailand. There she was still not safe due to overcrowding and lack of medical supplies and food. Luck came her way again when a kind soul saw her picture and sponsored her flight to the island Koh Samui to live at Elfes World Sanctuary where over 600 dogs reside. She has been at Elfes for the past 2 years and although she was loved there and safe, it was not a good life for Finny. Finny was confined almost 24/7 to a cage in order to keep her safe. She has waited a long time and traveled a long way to find her happiness.
Finny is a very gentle dog who seems to be an old soul. She is very alert and seems to take everything in with her beautiful big dark eyes. Her eyes appear wise and “all knowing” as if she can see into your soul. She is somber – most likely from a life of hardship and fear. Once settled in her new loving home she will be able to relax and learn how to just be a cherished and loved pet dog. Her heart will become full and lighter as she learns the joy of being part of a family. She will make the most wonderful companion once she finds her human to share her life. She can be shy around other dogs at first but can you blame her – weighing just 20 pounds and living among so many other dogs (600)- it was be a scary place at the shelter for such a sweet and small dog.
Finny is a very healthy and happy girl who is current on vaccinations, spayed, and micro chipped.
Finny is looking for her forever home –
