GREAT NEWS…..LAYLA IS HOME!!
Layla was rescued from the streets of Malaysia by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB). Despite her rough start to life she could not be a sweeter dog. She has waited a long time to find her human to share her love with.
Today, Bobbie Krinsky, Layla’s foster mom became her mom. Bobbie and Layla call Madison, WI home. Bobbie and Layla spend most of the day together – they go for walks, enjoy time in Bobbie’s beautiful yard, among many othe…r fun activities. The most enjoyable thing though is just “being together”. Bobbie tells me that Layla is a beautiful and gentle soul and that she is a very happy dog. Bobbie is thrilled to offer her a good life after all the hardship she has suffered in her short life.
Thank you MDDB for saving Layla and working so hard to ensure she had a better future. Most importantly thank you to Bobbie Krinsky for welcoming this sweet girl into your life.
Pre-Adoption Post
Layla is a mother dog rescued from Petaling Jaya early 2014. Her puppies have been adopted, however, Layla has very little chance of local adoption. Street dogs are not widely seen as desirable pets, especially adult dogs. Malaysia is primarily a Muslim country and many don’t deem dogs suitable as pets. Layla is estimated to be 3 years old approximately 35 pounds.
Upon rescue by “Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better”, the first couple of months, like many other street dogs, she kept to herself a lot but then one fine day she turned a new leaf and demanded attention nudging anyone that was around. She was then moved indoor where her favorite place to hang out was the kitchen – where the food was and soon it started to show on her “beer belly” lookalike.. It is pretty hard to ignore or say no her as she has a very human trait – she bats her eyelids when she wants something. Layla is a very special girl and is used now to being cared for hence cannot be released back to the streets. She has been put on a diet and exercised. She loves her walks and even hiking. She gets along great with other dogs and all people (including kids). She has a very calm and loving temperament and would make an ideal companion for a very lucky family.
Layla arrived into Chicago on September 29, 2015 from Malaysia. Layla is looking for her home.
Layla is spayed, current on vaccinations and microchipped. She is also cage trained.
