“A flibbertigibbet. A will-o-the-wisp. A clown.” The lyric from that song describes Star beautifully. She is the most delightful, charming, gorgeous girl. Star is perennially happy and silly. She loves to play and go for long walks. She adores squeaky toys. One of her favorite things is to sit in the sun at the window and gaze outside, watching squirrels and birds. She loves her humans tremendously.
She is quite bright and learns very quickly and easy to train because she is highly treat motivated. Star is fast, strong and athletic and would excel at agility. She leaps like a gazelle. Star is independent but loving. She enjoys children a great deal. She’d be a good running partner too.
When not playing or looking out the window, Star will sit next to you and gaze into your eyes while you gently stroke her neck. Then, she will curl into a ball and sleep beside you. She is fond of rolling onto her back and enjoying a chest and tummy rub as often as she can. Star is simply the most wonderful dog.
Star completed Canine Good Neighbor Classes on July 7th,2017, and she is crate trained.

Rescue Post
Star was rescued with her siblings Tiny and Twinkle from the harsh streets of New Delhi, India.
Star is a confident and playful pup with good energy. Your typical happy go lucky pup. Luckily she was rescued young and doesn’t have to deal with too much “horrors on the street”. She loves playing with her siblings and chasing balls. Her ears are adorable and appear too big for her body which gives her a very cute look with her honey amber colored eyes. She is alert and inquisitive and very smart. She already knows some basic obedience and catches on very quickly.
Here is their rescue as written by their rescuer Isobel Grant………….
On Saturday 28 May, as I was leaving my flat for the airport, I received a call from my friend Preeti. Preeti had spotted three small puppies in the colony, near her lane, wandering around. Luckily, Arti was in the colony that morning picking up an injured dog for some friends and they were able to connect.
Both asked around and spoke to a guard and no mother could be traced. According to the guard, they had appeared the day before but he wasn’t sure where they had appeared from. Preeti and Arti sent me some photos and I requested Arti to pick them up and look after them whilst I try and arrange foster care. Preeti and Arti thought they were around 4 weeks old. They were being fostered by Arti’s mother but have now moved to the foster home of Sonia Heller.
These three precious puppies will be traveling from India to Chicago on September 15, 2016 in hopes of finding their forever homes. Unfortunately they have little to no chance of adoption in India as street dogs are deemed “not pet worthy” rather they are commonly viewed as nuisances and are often abused or worse poisoned or otherwise killed. The odds of them surviving puppyhood on the streets are very slim as well as most meet their death by oncoming traffic, disease or starvation as they are too young to know the dangers and haven’t honed their survival instincts. Quite simply they are too innocent and trusting to survive the harsh streets. So these three are very lucky to be given this chance of a new start and to find happiness with a family.
