GREAT NEWS….. Zack is HOME!! Zack is a rescue from the streets of Kuala Lampur, Malaysia. Today he joined Charles Schafer of Batavia, IL.
Zack has the sweetest demeanor despite his rough start to life. He was shy coming out to meet a Charles and wouldn’t even take a treat although he enjoyed the pets. Then Charles took him for a long walk and he came back transformed… walk tagging and smili…ng!
It’s amazing how far a little love goes with this loving creatures. Zack knew he was home. When it came time to leave he jumped right in Charles’ car without hesitation.
Thank you to Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB) for saving this boy and working so hard to ensure a better future!!

Zack was born on the streets of Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. Although there were many street dogs in the area, Zack seemed to be alone without a pack or mum to watch over him. As he got bigger he developed bad skin issues and was extremely skinny as he took refuge under cars and was too afraid to come out looking for food. One of our volunteers lived nearby and she tried day after day to gain his trust to no avail. Finally 1 month later in November 2015, When a bowl of kibbles was pushed under the car to him, Zack popped out a little to retrieve it, a blanket was thrown over him and he whisked away straight to the vet. Over the next 6 months, Zack was treated for his skin issues, vaccinated, dewormed and neutered. The once weary scared pup blossomed into a handsome social butterfly. Zack was adopted at the very first adoption drive he attended, however it was short lived as the family changed their mind not having time for him. Zack was returned. Two months later another family adopted Zac along with his housemate Jack, again both dogs were returned. Zack became sad and withdrawn. Now almost a year later, he us back to his happy cheerful self. Zack is good with other dogs and children. He has not lived with cats but he is a playful but gentle boy and will likely be able to be trained to.
When he was first spotted, Zack was a frightened, quavering and timid puppy that was covered in mange. He was so frightened that he took shelter under an abandoned car parked in a bustling street in Petaling Jaya, which is a city about 20 miles from Malaysia’s federal capital Kuala Lumpur. It took rescuers many feeds and coaxing to finally get him from under the car. It also took almost six months of intensive TLC for Zack to recover and once his skin healed and he overcame his insecurities, the puppy metamorphosed into a confident and vibrant doggie man. He was adopted by a young man soon after, and MDDB volunteers believed Zack had finally found his human soul mate and forever home but sadly that was not to be. A month later, Zack came back to us after his human was offered a place in a university abroad and could not convince his parents to care for his dog throughout the four years he would be away. Going by his gregarious nature and love for the outdoors, MDDB decided that the USA would be the best option for Zack given that he would be able to move freely as opposed to in Malaysia where there is great restrictions imposed on dogs. One-year-old Zack would make a great addition to a family with teenage children or an excellent companion to a young adventurous man or woman.
ZACK will be traveling in May to Chicago. If you are interested in adopting him please contact us at info@istreetdog.com You can find our adoption application here.
