Zina’s Rescue Story
Woof! I am an incredible survivor who is traveling a long way from Tunisia to find my Forever Home. I am looking for a family that is going to spoil me so much that my past will stay far behind me. The truth about my past is the truth for many purebred female dogs around the world; I was used as a breeding dog for all four years of my young life. I was owned by an unscrupulous, nasty human who kept me on the roof without proper shelter. I was chained every day, all day long, and I never received quality food or veterinary care. I gave birth over and over again, and I was always so sad to see my babies go away.
One day, I thought to myself, “I need to get out of here. I will die here if I don’t leave.” So, I fled. This part of my story might seem like fiction, but it is also the truth. Somehow, I escaped from my chain. I jumped off the roof! My rescuer called it The Roof of Hell. She found me running on the streets. I was completely terrified. My cruel owner tried to get me back. He had a photo of me to prove that he owned me. The photo is a very depressing photo that I don’t want to show you here. Thankfully, my kind rescuer contacted a wonderful lady named Azza who immediately helped my situation. She refused to give me back to the horrible man! I am very grateful for my wonderful rescuers! Azza thinks that a tree might have cushioned my escape from the roof because my only injuries were some wounds on one of my legs. Currently, I am receiving care for my wounds as they are not fully healed. Otherwise, I am gaining weight and totally healthy.
Even after my awful ordeal, I am a beautiful, friendly young dog. I am spayed and vaccinated. In the house, I am calm and well-behaved. You will see my great combination of confidence and sweetness when I am around people; I am wonderful with children and people of all ages! Outside, it’s obvious that I enjoy my walks, and I am a super leash-walker. When I go to the vet, I am a good patient, and I love getting attention. I have socialized with big dogs, and I like playing and running with them. I have not experienced a lot of time with small dogs, but I am not friendly with cats.
Are you a part of my story? The part where I have a bright future filled with walks and treats and snuggles? I sure hope so! I can’t wait to meet you soon.
