Approximately 750 million street dogs roam free in the world.  These dogs have to be very smart and resilient to survive the hardships of the streets.  Many people think that they must be feral and unapproachable for that reason.  However, most survive because of their ability to bond with people and in return people help them survive.  Most are surprisingly friendly towards humans and they seem to have a basic instinct and drive to connect with humans.  The New York times recently posted a very touching article on the special bonds people have developed with street dogs.  You can click here to view the article.  I’m all of our adopters could write their own special story.
