The long anticipated opening of the Waukegan Savannah Dog Park is HERE – the park officially opened on September 13, 2019.
ISDF had a reunion play date there last month and it was a blast! Fun was had by all the dogs and humans in attendance.
Located in Wadsworth, this cool new spot is one of five designated off-leash Dog Parks operated by the Lake County Forest Preserves where dogs can run and play off-leash. This Dog Park is part of Waukegan Savanna Forest Preserve.
The 11-acre area is entirely fenced and features a large open area, a separate enclosed area for small dogs weighing less than 25 pounds, shade shelters with seating, drinking water for dogs and people, toilets, and a large parking lot. If you haven’t been yet I highly encourage you to go – your dogs will thank you.
